So Os Leifs joined Os Novos Baianos in their opening in the Southeast with the show Desembarque Dos Bichos Depois do Dilúvio in 1969, after the presentation of the same show in Salvador, BA, the previous year.
This was followed by the first Os Novos Baianos LP, Ferro Na Boneca. In the same year, the group disputed the V FMPB with "De Vera" (Morais/Galvão), included in their first LP. In 1972, after a stint with João Gilberto the previous year, the group dedicated themselves to research on Brazilian musical roots, and the result is evident on their second LP, Acabou Chorare, a milestone in the MPB discography (also mixing choro, frevo, samba, and other genres). The group recorded another LP, Novos Baianos F.C., and disbanded in 1978, with their members departing for solo careers after Moreira set the example.
In 1997, Baby do Brasil, Pepeu, Morais Moreira, and Paulinho Boca de Cantor teamed again for the release of the book Anos 70: Novos e Baianos by Luís Galvão (Editora 34), and once more for the commemoration of Moreira's 50 years. All of them, including Galvão, grouped for the recording of Infinito Circular (Polygram, 1997).

Pink Floyd - Live at Pompei - original concert full version

Trixie Smith: My Man Rocks Me
Born in 1895 in Atlanta, Trixie Smith came to New York around 1915. She became a featured performer on the traveling African American vaudeville circuit. She made her first recordings for Black Swan in 1922 after winning a prestigious blues singing contest at the Manhattan Casino in New York. Her recording career waned after the mid-1920s, but she continued to perform on stage (in musical revues and on Broadway) and in several films. She died in 1943.
J. Berni Barbour, “My Man Rocks Me (With One Steady Roll),” performed by Trixie Smith, My Man Rocks Me (With One Steady Roll) (phonograph record: Black Swan 14127; 1922)
La grabación original, 1922
Una grabación posterior, con mejor sonido (Decca, 1938)
Lyrics: “My Man Rocks Me (With One Steady Roll)”
I feel so happy, I have a smile, [both all the while]
Since my man came back home to stay, night and day
He’s made life snappy
My man rocks me, with one steady roll
There’s no slippin’ when he wants take hold
I looked at the clock, and the clock struck one
I said now, Daddy, ain’t we got fun
Oh, he was rockin’ me, with one steady roll
My man rocks me, with one steady roll
There’s no slippin’ when he wants take hold
I looked at the clock, and the clock struck six
I said, Daddy, y’know I like those tricks
Cause he was rockin’ me, with one steady roll
My man rocks me, with one steady roll
There’s no slippin when he takes hold
I looked at the clock, and the clock struck ten
I said, glory, Amen
My man was rockin’ me, with one steady roll
